Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu

Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the 15th Governor of Lagos State, is a man of great feats. His outstanding performance in the last three and half years has endeared him to the citizens and established him as the symbol of responsible governance in Nigeria. For his exemplary leadership and courageous management of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, Governor Sanwo-Olu has been adorned with some of the country's most prestigious awards. Owing to his service-centered leadership, Governor Sanwo-Olu has become the reference point for excellence in public service in Nigeria. His timely and strategic intervention in the COVID-19 pandemic saved our country from a major calamity and upgraded the healthcare system in Lagos State.

Beyond his 'Incident Commander' role, which has exemplified to the whole world that Nigerians are capable of outstanding leadership, his excellent strides and people-centered programs in Lagos State have continued to attract commendations and recognition from far and near.

Specifically, his administration's methodical implementation of the THEMES Agenda is an eloquent testimony to his resolve to transform Lagos State into a leading mega city in the world. From Ikorodu to Badagry, from Epe to Alimosho, from Agege to Satelite Town, modern infrastructures in roads, schools, health care and transportation spring up daily.

Matching his words with actions, Governor Sanwo-Olu has demonstrated to citizens across the 57 Local Governments and LCDAs in Lagos State that the dividends of democracy are tangible. Since the beginning of his administration, Lagos has been a semblance of a construction site, with massive infrastructural projects going on concurrently in every part of the State, delivering verifiable projects that make life easier and better for the people.

Over this period, many landmark projects have been delivered. Some of these include the Agege-Pen Cinema Bridge, Housing Schemes across the State, Urban Renewal in Victoria Island, the Delivery of 102 Waste Compactor Trucks and 100 Double Dino bins to boost LAWMA operations, the Introduction of Body cameras for security operatives, the Donation of 150 vehicles, four high-capacity troop carriers, two anti-riot water cannon vehicles to the police towards security strengthening in the State.

'Mr.Governor' as he prefers to be called instead of 'His Excellency' has evolved into a reputable political brand whose ethos imbues the citizens with confidence. He is a Governor for everyone and a man of the people. He has shown extraordinary interest in the well-being of the not-so-privileged in society and caters to their needs through personal programs like 'Sanwo-Olu Listens'and BOS-KOH Annual Medical Mission.

This man, who is loved by Lagosians for his outstanding leadership qualities, humility and simplicity; is an alumnus of the University of Lagos, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Surveying & Geo-Informatics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Havard Kennedy School of Government, London Business School and the Lagos Business School. In addition, he is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Directors (IOD), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and the Nigeria Institute of Training and Development (NITAD).

A 3-time Commissioner in Lagos State and a former Managing Director of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSPDC), his foray into public service started after decades of accomplishments in the private sector, especially the Nigerian banking sector, from where he retired as a General Manager.

A devout Christian and family-focused man whose marriage to Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu is blessed with lovely children, Mr. Sanwo-Olu, in addition to his love for public speaking, is a member of numerous prestigious clubs, which include Ikoyi Club 1938, the Island Club, Yoruba Tennis Club and the Clear Essence Health Club.
